Fiction | 00:20 | SWITZERLAND – PORTUGAL
WRITTEN & DIRECTED BY AURÉLIE PERNET OLIVEIRA
It’s summer in Portugal. Otilia works as a cleaner at the municipal swimming pool. At home, she takes care of her mother, Laurinda, alone. She begins to lose her memory and multiplies the number of runaways in the surrounding mountains where fires are raging.
Otilia can’t make ends meet. In debt with her neighbour Virgilio, she is not in a position to repay him. Virgilio, who was involved in dirty business, then offered to wipe his debt in exchange for a service. At the end of its rope, Otilia will have to choose whether or not to accept its neighbour’s dubious proposal, a decision with serious consequences.
