Serhii, a young Ukrainian director in exile, isolates himself in a hotel room to escape his responsibilities and his personal crisis. The sudden arrival of Lisa, his former partner, to tell him that she has to return to Ukraine to look after her father, upsets his isolation. Trapped in this room, they confront their wounds, their broken ties and an essential question: where is their true home?
Biography
Serhii Tykhoniuk, Director
Born in 2004 in Mariupol, Ukraine. He moved to Kyiv at the onset of the war in southern Ukraine. In 2020, he graduated in filmmaking from the KAMA (Kyiv Academy of Media Arts). Prior to the full-scale war, he was a student at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, specializing in Film and Television Directing. Since 2022, he has been based in Switzerland, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Cinema at ECAL (École cantonale d’art de Lausanne). His first short documentary THE LIGHTS OF KYIV (2023) premiered at Visions du Réel in Nyon and won the Best U-20 Film Award at UFM in Lucerne. He graduated in 2025 with his short film NOSTOS.
