Nueva Esperanza in Colombia is a village where 680 peasant farmers have taken refuge. Overnight they had to leave their fields, their houses and their loved ones, who had been tortured and murdered by the guerrilla’s henchmen, the paramilitary and sometimes the soldiers of the State. Tacacho brings together the reconstitutions of true narratives, staged and played by the peasants themselves, with the help of the film’s crew. Rarely do films within a film give such authenticity to characters whose dignity and resilience form the basis of their hope of a new life.

Biography
Colombian filmmaker, born in 1983 in Bogotá. Crown up in a humble Indian family, he had the opportunity to travel to Switzerland in 2007, where he began studying film at the Geneva University of Fine Art, HEAD. In his short career he signed five short films in which one of them has long international diffusion.
2014: Award of Fleury-Merogis Detention Center at the Paris human rights international film festival (FIFDH).
2013: Prize for Excellene in cinema awareded by Hans Wilsdorf Fondation.
