Tonight Naomi’s partner tells her he will return to monogamy with one of his recent relations. Confronted with the harsh reality of non-monogamy, Naomi heads out onto the streets of Amsterdam for a night of diverse intimacies, to remember why she committed to this kind of relationship in the first place.
Biography
Naomi Pacifique, Director
Naomi Pacifique is a Swiss and Dutch multidisciplinary artist. She grew up in Lausanne, Switzerland, before moving to the UK to pursue her practice. She completed a MA in Creative Writing at Oxford University and an MA in Filmmaking at the London Film School. Her graduation film, after a room, was awarded the Pardino d’Argento Swiss Life at the 74th Locarno Film Festival in August 2021, among other international festival prizes. Through the arts, Naomi’s work focuses on intimacy and the spaces found within it to discover and reinvent both oneself and the surrounding environment. In 2022, Naomi participated in the Berlinale Talents and the Apichatpong Weerasethakul Lab: Filming in the Amazon. She is currently developing her first feature film, after the night, the night, selected for the Locarno Festival’s first residency in 2022. In 2023, she continued development of the film as part of the San Sebastian Festival’s Ikusmira Berriak residency, where it won the Elamedia Euskadi prize.
